Camping

Camping in Solang Valley is a simple way to enjoy the Himalayas away from busy hotels. Green meadows, pine slopes and snow-capped peaks surround the valley, which lies about 13 km from Manali. Whether you come with friends, family or a partner, a night under the stars feels very different from a regular stay.

A typical camping stay lasts one night and two days. Tents are usually shared or private, and most camps include bedding, an evening bonfire and simple meals. Also, many camps arrange short walks and group games. However, facilities differ from camp to camp, so ask what is included before you choose.

In summer, days are pleasant and nights are cool. In winter, the valley gets snow, so camping becomes cold but memorable. Therefore, pack warm layers, a jacket, gloves and a cap. Also carry a torch, a power bank and your personal medicines, because shops are far from the campsite.

You can combine camping with other activities nearby, such as paragliding, zorbing, quad biking and skiing in season. Moreover, the valley is close to Manali, so travel is easy. Because mountain weather can change quickly, keep your plan flexible and check the forecast before you leave.

Please keep the campsite clean, avoid loud music late at night and follow the safety instructions of the camp staff. Do not walk near rivers or steep slopes alone after dark. If you are travelling with children, stay close to the tents and keep a small first-aid kit ready.
